Since the beginning of civilisation, a community"s resource of knowledge has been the chief measure of its potential. With it comes health, wealth, power, prestige and prosperity. It is this understanding of the basic truth that sparked the vision of our founder, the Late Justice K S Hegde. Since its inception in 1979, the Nitte Education Trust has grown from strength to strength to be a premier organisation bringing in its wake, a new wave of awakening in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Bangalore districts infusing a positive influence on all those who have come under its sphere of activity whether as a student, teacher, employee or as a community at large.

THE INSTITUTE

Encouraged by the overwhelming response from parents and students from all over the country and abroad to the quality education imparted at Nitte, Mr. Vinay Hegde, son of founder, late Justice K S Hegde started another engineering college, the Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology at Yelahanka in Bangalore in 2001. Affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum and approved by the AICTE, New Delhi, the college offers a 4 year graduate programme in engineering leading to the award of the degree-Bachelor of Engineering (B.E). The college also offers postgraduate programmes, that is, Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Computer Applications (MCA) and M.Tech.(VLSI & Embedded Systems).
Under the able guidance of well-known academician and former Vice-chancellor of Bangalore University, Prof. N R Shetty who is aided by a dedicated team of highly qualified and experienced staff, the institution has met with immediate success in the academic circle. All the courses offered by the college have good job potential and meet the requirements of different segments of the industries and other user organisations.
The campus is situated on a sprawling 23 acre land in the calm sylvan environs of Govindapura, Gollahalli village.
