    Fashion Illustrations

Strokes, Sketching, Drawing Skills & Techniques, Drawing Human Figures, Application of Illustrations, Drawing Male and Female Figures, Poses, Bent Sketches, Photo Analysis, Garment Illustrations, Styling Techniques, Hair Styles, Face – Cuts and Fashion Accessory Designing.


    Merchandising

Merchandising Basics, Fashion Merchandising, Fashion Forecasting, Merchandise Planning, Quality Assurance and Quality Controls, Fabric Embellishments, Production and Inspection Techniques, Documentation & Costing.


    Management

Management Techniques, Designer Strategies, Advertising, Promotions and Media Planning, Personal & Organizational Relations, Presentation & Communication Techniques, Stress & Time Management Skills.


Curriculum

Apart from lectures and practical teaching, students are encouraged for learning by doing exercises and regular projects and assignments based on the topics.

Designer can’t afford to be ignorant of various properties, economics & limits to the material he handles along with happenings in the industry. Thus the course is structured to inculcate the best of practices.

Seminars, Symposia, Site Visits, Industrial Visits and Excursions, Group Discussions, Class Presentations, Regular Class Tests and Reviews are an integral part of the entire curricula. Viva Voce to give chance to the students to express and illustrate his/her works. Thus, the curriculum is deliberated to promote learning by doing approach.

Note:

Though the topics remain same, faculty can give different exercises under each project based on the changes, requirement and relevance.

Sessionals include class tests, class practicals, exercises and assignments carried out in class and small – practice assignments and other regular submissions.


Examination Pattern

Student’s learning is evaluated submissions throughout the year. Examinations are held twice a year based on semester pattern. This exam is done at 6th - month level. Towards the end of the program a final examination is held. While this examination is important, submission of sessional work, through the year is just as important.

Each subject holds 100 marks paper. Besides this, the regular assignments and projects hold marks on their relevance and importance. A cumulative of which is taken based on which the students are given marks and graded accordingly.


Evaluation Pattern

Credit System:

IDeA, offers its students, a grading system based on the North American Credit System. Each subject in the Curricula will be assigned a certain no. of credits, based on its importance and relevance. Grades are given for end semester exams, quizzes and sessionals, which are tabulated to give a Cumulative Grade Point Average. This system discounts many of the problems with the normal marking system that arise from subject difficulty, weightage and ranking etc.

The students would be required to earn the prescribed number of credits indicated for the respective academic programme as well as perform to the established level of performance set by the institute for successful completion of the professional education programme at IDeA.
